After a 29-month-suspension, Nanjing resumed passenger flight services with Hong Kong in both ways on July 19 as Cathay Pacific Flight CX356 with 84 passengers landed at Nanjing Lukou International Airport.
The airline brought back outbound flights from Nanjing on June 7 after suspending the service since February 2020 due to COVID-19 outbreaks. Cathay Pacific will operate one round-trip per week between the two cities with an Airbus A330.
Nanjing Lukou International Airport now has eight international and regional passenger routes, with 31.4 flights per week and about 2,400 passengers passing through the airport. The destinations include Italy, Singapore, Vietnam, Korea, Japan and Indonesia.
The airport has handled more than 750 flights with 43,000 passengers this year, accounting for 68.8% and 94.1% of Jiangsu’s total civil air transport respectively. The airport has also opened three international cargo routes.
