The 24th edition of the tourism festival "Summer of Lianyungang" opened at the foot of Huaguo Mountain (Flowers and Fruit Mountain) in the city on July 2, along with the Jiangsu Coastal Development Forum.

The festival is an important cultural and tourism brand of Lianyungang, promoting high-quality development through forums, exchanges, and publicity campaigns. This year's event was co-sponsored by the province's Department of Culture and Tourism and the Lianyungang Municipal People's Government.

At the opening ceremony, Lianyungang highlighted three travel routes featuring "Jiangsu's most beautiful coastal road", heritage sites related to the mountain (described as Monkey King's homeland in "The Journey to the West"), and the city's history and recreational attractions.

In addition, the Department of Culture and Tourism also worked with leading on-demand services provider Meituan to organize touring programs. The opening also presented awards to the winners of short-video contests and the "Lianyungang City Promoter" program.

The festival will continue until October and includes various events, such as a marathon, music carnival and beer cultural festival.
