Jiangsu's investment in transport infrastructure in 2023 will climb 10.7% year-on-year to top 200 billion yuan, according to a work conference held on January 10.
Wu Yonghong, director of the province's Transport Department, said Jiangsu will continue to improve the airport capacity and complete renovation projects at Yancheng Airport, Sunan Shuofang International Airport and Xuzhou Guanyin International Airport. Jiangsu will also promote the construction of general aviation airports, finish building of Zhenjiang Dalu Airport, and continue the development of Xuzhou Xinyi Airport.
In 2023, Jiangsu will strive to complete the renovation and expansion project at Lianyungang Port to handle 400,000-ton ore carriers and advance the building of a terminal for 300,000-ton crude oil carriers at Xuwei Port. Efforts will also be made to enhance the operation quality and efficiency of China-Europe freight trains, with a goal to accomplish 2,000 trips in the year.
Jiangsu's newly built and renovated rural roads will add up to 2,800 kilometers in 2023 amid efforts to integrate urban and rural logistics services.
In addition, Jiangsu will build a number of key logistics hubs and further improve Longtan Port, Jiangsu (Suzhou) International Railway Logistics Center, the SCO (Lianyungang) International Logistics Park and other venues for multimodal transport services.
