Assigned by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, a team of the Standing Committee of the Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress held a meeting on July 12 to start inspecting the enforcement of the Foreign Investment Law.

The inspection work will focus on a number of priorities, such as the foreign investment promotion and administration systems and the law’s alignment with relevant regulations.
The team will urge parties to perform statutory duties and responsibilities, and ensure rigorous enforcement of the law in Jiangsu.
The team heard reports on the law’s enforcement by several departments of the province, including the Department of Commerce, the Development and Reform Commission, the Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Market Supervision Bureau.
The team will also make field studies in Nanjing and Suzhou cities. Meanwhile, the standing committees of local people's congress in Xuzhou and Nantong cities are also assigned to carry out their own respective inspections.
