A number of wind or solar energy projects signed cooperation deals at the Jiangsu Provincial New Energy Investment Forum which opened in Yancheng City on May 18 amid the province’s progress in COVID-19 prevention and control.
Jiangsu is both a large energy-consumer and a thriving hub of new energy generation. By the end of April this year, 155.94 million kilowatts of power generation capacity had been installed in Jiangsu, including renewable energy capacity of 45.94 million kilowatts, or 29.5% of the total. In breakdown, the province’s installed capacity for wind power, solar energy and biomass energy reached 22.37 million kilowatts, 20.57 million kilowatts and 2.95 million kilowatts respectively, all ranking among the top in China for many years.
At the forum, Jiangsu Guoxin Investment Group and Yancheng State-owned Asset Group reached an agreement to build a comprehensive energy complex in the city’s Binhai Port, including an LNG receiving station with an investment of 7 billion yuan and other offshore wind power and solar energy projects worth 15 billion yuan.
