The first Jiangsu Industry-University-Research Cooperation Conference has achieved fruitful results since opening online on March 22. 

The conference helped reach letters of intent for over 1,000 projects, brought more than 2,000 people to various meetings, attracted 550,000 audiences online, and facilitated networking among 11,000 enterprises.

The event has also showcased 434 scientific and technological achievements and 136 research teams from 96 universities, including 118 core technologies, said Zhao Zhiqiang, director of the Jiangsu Productivity Promotion Centre.

Individuals or businesses to the conference can initiate talks at any time, and about 40% of proposed projects are to start a new round of negotiations.

The event also included the virtual signing ceremony for 18 key projects between the province’s 18 tech firms and 14 leading universities and institutes, such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University and Tsinghua University. These projects mainly cover high-end equipment manufacturing, digital economy, new materials, healthcare, carbon neutrality and other sectors.
