Nanjing opened a direct cargo flight to Osaka, Japan on April 27, a service operated by a B737 freighter of China Postal Airlines.
The aircraft left Nanjing Lukou International Airport at 10:30 and landed at Kansai International Airport at 12:40. Opening the cargo flight is part of China Post’s efforts to support China’s new economic development pattern of "dual circulation."
The Nanjing-Osaka route will mainly transport EMS and e-commerce parcels from Nanjing, Suzhou and Wuxi to Japan. There will be three flights per week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The annual cargo handled through the service is expected to reach 1,500 tons.
Parcels from Jiangsu usually need to be shipped to Shanghai port first on the way to Japan, a process that usually take six days. The new flight route cuts the process to 3-4 days.
China Post will also open new international cargo and mail routes from Nanjing to destinations in Russia, Europe, Australia and South America, which will help the development of cross-border e-commerce.
