A China-Europe freight train carrying 94 TEUs left Xuzhou City in Jiangsu Province on its way to Hamburg, Germany, 10,683 kilometers away, on November 28.
This marked the first freight train service between the two cities and also the 600th trip of China-Europe freight trains from Xuzhou.
According to China Railway Shanghai Group, the train was loaded with engineering machinery, medical gloves, non-woven fabrics, glass handicrafts, doors and windows parts with a total market value of 19.58 million yuan. The train will pass through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and other countries before arriving in Hamburg after 15 days.
From January to November this year, the China-Europe freight train service departing from Xuzhou saw 295 trips and transportation of 24,190 TEUs, up 56 percent year on yea, with a foreign trade of $230 million.
The China-Europe freight trains from Xuzhou have operated on four routes and will add new destinations including Poland and countries in West Asia.
