Focusing on the issues of wetland protection, biodiversity, and green agriculture, the 2023 Global Coastal Forum (WCF) Youth Forum opened in Yancheng City, and issued the Youth Declaration on Wetland Conservation on September 24.

As the common wealth of the world, wetlands serve as vital source of life and essential ecological foundation for the sustainable development, according to the declaration. Protecting wetlands is not only to provide a habitat for wildlife but also to safeguard the living environment of human beings.

The declaration urges young people to support wetland protection and actively participate in volunteer activities, such as environmental management, hydrological monitoring, and bird protection.

The declaration advocates for a low-carbon lifestyle, waste sorting, and contribution to tree planting. Young people are encouraged to disseminate knowledge of wetlands and migratory birds protection.

The document also calls for the rational use of wetland resources, promoting the sustainable development of coastal wetlands and building a harmonious coexistence between human and nature.
