Yangzhou has improved the green space in urban area to 20.19 square meters per person, the highest in East China's Jiangsu Province, according to a press conference of the city's Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development on December 7.
The city has gone all out to implement the eco-friendly development philosophy and enhance the scientific decision-making regarding the planning and management of green spaces amid efforts to create a park city featuring the harmonious coexistence between people and nature.
In 2022, the city's urban area has added about 1.28 million square meters of green spaces and about 7 kilometers of flower walls. Yangzhou's green spaces in urban parks have totaled 24.85 million square meters and 20.19 square meters per person.
