The 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee held the second plenary session in Nanjing on June 16. Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, spoke at the meeting.
The meeting voted to nominate preliminary delegates from Jiangsu for the 20th CPC National Congress and adopt a resolution on the convening of a meeting in June to finally determine the delegates on behalf of the coastal province.
The meeting noted that the 20th CPC National Congress will be held amid China's moving toward the second centenary goal of fully building a modern country. In this context, the top priority of the province is to ensure effective coordination between COVID-19 prevention and control, and the economic and social development.
Jiangsu will put people's life and health at first place, improve pandemic response measures, enhance the emergency response, and achieve maximum effect with minimum cost.
Jiangsu will also fully and accurately implement the new development concept, unswervingly pursue high-quality development, stimulate the market vitality, improve safety and stability of the industrial and supply chains, and sharpen comprehensive competitiveness.
Committed to a people-centered development philosophy, the province will always put people’s wellbeing first, improve people's livelihoods, education, medical care and other endeavors towards the goal of common prosperity.
Jiangsu will make every effort to safeguard social and food security, ensure workplace safety, and continue to make progress in identifying and resolving risks in key areas including finance, real estate, large enterprises development and government debt.
