Jiangsu governor Xu Kunlin called for rigorous and comprehensive prevention and control measures against the COVID-19 outbreak in Suzhou on February 15 and 16.

Xu stressed the need to put people's lives and health as the top priority, carry out effective nucleic acid testing and contact tracing, and employ all possible measures to prevent the spread of virus. He also urged to improve management for imported goods.

Xu called for strict response measures in public transport, community management, supply of daily necessities, nucleic acid testing, and logistics of epidemic control materials. He also said it’s necessary to guarantee the resumption of work and production and promote the application of digital measures to ensure supply and price stability.
