Jiangsu put into service of its most powerful emergency tow vessel Suhai 01 on December 21, giving a strong boost to the emergency response and rescue in the sea.
The economic powerhouse is home to China’s largest fishing port and the largest offshore wind farm. Amid the rapid development of economy and society, the coastal province faces an increasing need for high-level emergency response in seawater.
Wang Xianxue of Wuhu Shipyard Co Ltd., producer of the vessel, said the multi-purpose boat can transfer construction personnel from offshore wind farms or ships, tow disabled vessels, fight fire, and combat oil spills. Equipped with sophisticated communication solutions, the boat can carry 600 tons of fresh water and 850 tons of fuel supply at one time. It can be used to tow large vessels and support wind farm construction and maintenance.
