Jiangsu province takes national lead in introducing an intelligent safety control system dedicated to road transport.

The system has been installed in all vehicles used for transport of tourists, dangerous chemicals, fireworks and explosives. Meanwhile, over 5,000 heavy-duty trucks are also equipped with this system.

Jiangsu is also the first in building the smart access control system for inland rivers, improving the management and service of waterway transport.

The coastal province has promoted the development of cooperative autonomous driving. Technologies that respond to pedestrian movement, identify risks on key road sections and control speed automatically have all be put into practice in the pilot area in Tianning District in Changzhou City.

Xiangcheng District in Suzhou City is home to a demonstration zone of digital transformation of transport. Efforts have been made to renovate 60 km of roads, install more than 400 sets of sensors, and provide the full 5G coverage in the zone, which is also the first to operate a regular self-driving bus assisted by 5G.
