Silk Road logistics expo in Lianyungang strengthens trade corridors

About 450 enterprises from 23 countries and regions, such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany and Singapore, are attending the 8th China (Lianyungang) Silk Road International Logistics Expo, which commenced on August 31.

Organized by the China Chamber of International Commerce in partnership with the Lianyungang government, the 3-day expo aims to bolster a trade corridor spanning land and sea routes, based on the principles of mutual benefits, win-win cooperation and joint development.

The opening ceremony saw the collective signing of agreements for 17 projects with a total investment of 22.3 billion yuan. The expo is expected to conclude with 27 deals worth 25.4 billion yuan, covering new materials, new energy, high-end equipment, international logistics and other sectors.

Over the past seven editions, the expo has attracted more than 40,000 exhibitors and 400 overseas intuitions from 50 countries and regions. It has evolved into a significant international platform to foster logistics cooperation and industry exchange. This year’s event highlights major achievements in the Belt and Road Initiative, particularly in the logistics sector domestically and internationally.

The expo features an exhibition area of 37,000 square meters, including 1,483 standard booths and an outdoor zone of 5,000 square meters. The indoor exhibitors comprise 160 equipment and technology enterprises, 80 service enterprises, and nearly 200 trade and logistics enterprises. Of these, there are 42 international exhibitors, and over 80 are either foreign-invested or wholly foreign-owned companies. There are also over 60 industry leading enterprises and listed companies in the event.

The expo is divided into six exhibitions, focusing on logistics development under the framework of the New Eurasian Land Bridge (NELB),large-scale equipment and vehicles, and other fields. In addition, a series of special programs, such as forums and sideline events, will help deepen cooperation between ports and promote application of information technology.

The exhibits range from logistics equipment to transportation choices, technologies and services. For instance, SF Express showcases its farm-to-consumer logistics solution for agricultural specialty products. For processing companies, the company also offers raw materials, warehousing, and chartered truck services to ensure the delivery efficiency. Another exhibitor, Shanghai Jinlong Shelf Co Ltd, highlights two products powered by intelligent technologies. Other innovative displays feature vertical lift modules, automated warehouse, mobile charging stations for electric vehicles, and unmanned delivery vehicles.
