At the provincial education conference held on December 9, Xin Changxing, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, emphasized that Jiangsu must build a stronghold in education.

In September this year, the Ministry of Education and Jiangsu jointly established the first National University Technology Transfer and Commercialization Center. Wang Jiayi, Vice Minister of Education, stated that efforts should focus on developing this center into an influential hub within approximately five years.

Wu Qingwen, Mayor of Suzhou, highlighted that 40 universities have established 51 research institutes or higher education institutes in the city. This development has strengthened Suzhou's confidence in building itself into a global industrial and technological innovation hub.

This year, 12 interdisciplinary centers from Jiangsu’s universities, including Nanjing University and Hohai University, were selected as the first pilot projects for further development. Under this initiative, Jiangsu is vigorously promoting interdisciplinary integration and continuously enhancing the role of academic sources in addressing major development needs.

Xie Yonghua, Party chief of Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, said that the university has jointly established colleges and institutions with leading companies such as Huawei and SOHO Group, aiming to solve technical challenges and improve production process.

"We will establish a dynamic system to adjust academic programs in response to industry needs, promoting the coordinated development of vocational education and modern industries. Meanwhile, we will integrate existing platforms and research resources to create new initiatives with distinctive features, strong commercialization capabilities, and advanced standards,” said Xie.
