The Intangible Cultural Heritage Lifestyle Hub, held at Yingzhou Isle in Xuanwu Lake Park in Nanjing City, attracted numerous visitors during its run from October 17 to 20.  

The inaugural edition brought together hundreds of inheritors of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) items from across the province, such as Nanjing’s velvet flowers, Xuzhou’s scented sachets, Suzhou’s embroidery, Yangzhou’s incense once favored by scholars, Changzhou’s ivory carving, and Zhenjiang’s clay whistles. Exquisite traditional crafts like sugar painting, paper cutting, and tie-dyeing, along with their creative redevelopment, were also on display. 

With immersive experiences as its core, the event featured an ICH exhibition zone, marketplace, workshops, and a performance area, all on the lawn of the popular destination.  

Set in a natural environment, it encouraged visitors to explore the heritage preservation, modern development, and the integration of ICH items into everyday life. 

The 4-day event also showcased Jiangsu’s traditional operas from Yangzhou and Wuxi, as well as puppet plays, clown shows, and other performances incorporating ICH. These programs drew large crowds, with many visitors stopping to watch and even interacted with the performers.
