Wujiang Museum opened its new branch, Suzhou Bay Museum, on January 17.
The new venue with six floors has a collection of more than 20,000 cultural relics, including exhibits made of pottery, jade, stone and bronze as well as calligraphy and painting works.
The museum also has reading rooms, lecture halls, stores and other multi-functional public spaces.
The museum's first floor now hosts an exhibition on the Silk Road and the Grand Canal in four parts, showing collections from Gansu Provincial Museum, Nanjing Museum and Lanzhou Museum.
On the fourth floor of the museum is an exhibition of 442 items to show the history and culture of Wujiang District.
With a long history and rich cultural heritage, Wujiang is known for silk, ancient towns and villages, waterways and famous figures in China's modern history.
