Jiangsu has recently issued the enforcement advice for promoting high-quality development of traditional crafts.
By 2025, the province aims to build a well-rounded system to support the endeavor, create more than 600 brands associated with traditional arts and crafts, including at least 60 well-known labels, and realize the sales growth of 3% year-on-year.
Amid protection efforts, Jiangsu will introduce a list of traditional crafts with a greater performance in inheriting, marketing and job creations. It will also create a list of crafts that need better support and active incorporation into modern life.
To enhance talent training, Jiangsu will step up measures to help young and middle-aged inheritors, encourage schools to offer admissions of students majoring in traditional crafts.
In addition, the province will establish 100 workshops to support job creation and entrepreneurship centered on traditional crafts, and encourage industrial parks and experiential sites of intangible cultural heritage to offer more tourism routes and creative products. Key technologies powering metaverse will also be actively explored in combination of traditional crafts. Jiangsu will also advance the digital museums to highlight the intangible cultural heritage.
