The 19th Journey to the West Cultural Festival will take place in Lianyungang City on September 25.

The city’s Huaguo Mountain is known as the legendary home of the Monkey King from the Chinese classical novel Journey to the West.

The festival is co-organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Lianyungang Municipal People's Government. The event will feature art and cultural performances, markets showcasing cultural and creative products related to the Chinese mythology, tourism promotions, academic seminars, and exhibitions.

Other events during the festival include the 16th China Donghai International Crystal Festival, scheduled on September 26. There will also be fireworks and cultural shows on September 28 to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Furthermore, the city’s Garden Expo Park will host a camping & musical festival from September 29 to October 1.
