On March 2, workers began laying tracks for a new railway linking Shanghai with Suzhou in Jiangsu Province and Huzhou in Zhejiang Province.
The railway tracks have a total length of 450 kilometers across complex terrains, including rivers and lakes. To ensure safe and high-quality operations, the project employs two track-laying machines and mobilizes up to 800 workers at its peak.
The railway line, measuring 163.8 kilometers in length, will feature eight stations and is designed for speeds up to 350 kilometers per hour.
Track-laying work is scheduled for completion by the end of June, with the new railway line ready for opening by the end of year. This development will enhance the regional railway network, promoting the integration and high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta.
