In China’s strategy to promote integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, a demonstration area spanning across Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang has been designated to pilot the ecologically friendly development.
Established one year ago, a service office of the China Electronic Port Data Center has played an active role in supporting this demonstration area’s growth.
It has provided 10,209 times of services for foreign trade enterprises in Suzhou, issued 14,801 e-port cards and handled certificate-related services for 1,552 times. Such services, accessible locally, helped companies save the card cost of 6.35 million yuan and other costs by about 3 million yuan.
The demonstration zone sits in the middle of the delta and consists of Qingpu District of Shanghai, Wujiang District of Suzhou in Jiangsu and Jiashan County of Jiaxing in Zhejiang.
The service office, located at a building in Wujiang District, is the first of its kind in China to work closely with local authorities responsible for administrative approval. It provides full range of e-port services and has also strengthened support to key industries and major projects with the support of Wujiang Customs.
