The Phase IV container terminal of Taicang Port has handled 276,552.5 TEUs in the first quarter of the year.

Construction of the terminal started on April 28, 2018 with a total investment of 4 billion yuan. It includes four 50,000-ton container berths with a total length of 1,292 meters and an annual throughput capacity of 2 million TEUs.

As a key initiative of the coastal province, it’s also the largest investment and most technically advanced berth project since the establishment of Jiangsu Port Group.

The project kicked off trial operation in June 2021 and handled 500,000 TEUs in the year. Efforts are underway to put into use all facilities including five container cranes and also facilitate commissioning of the automation systems.
