Jiangyin Furen High-tech has become the producer of China’s first outdoor explosion-proof refueling robot, which was recently put into use in the country’s Tibet Autonomous Region.

The company’s engineer Wang Leijun said that the refueling robot features a high safety performance in the plateau environment of low temperatures, high altitude and strong ultraviolet rays. The dual-arm design allows the robot to perform complex and collaborative movements with an increased efficiency. Wang also said over 90% of components in the device were made using domestic technologies. 

Drivers can wake up the robot through an app without getting off cars during refueling. The device uses AI to quickly identify and accurately locate the fuel tank cap, extends two arms to turn on the cap and hold the fuel nozzle respectively, a process in several minutes.  

The company has been developing this refueling robot since 2018.
