The No.9 wind turbine of the Dongtai Phase V project was put into use on November 20 and connected to the grid, a milestone for China's first offshore wind farm with foreign investment.
China Energy Investment Corporation (CHN Energy) and French power group EDF agreed in 2019 to build the offshore wind power project with a capacity of 500,000 kilowatts in Dongtai, according to Guohua Energy Investment Jiangsu company, a subsidiary of CHN Energy. The first offshore wind power project with both domestic and foreign investment in China, it involves a total investment of 7.94 billion yuan, with EDF holding a 37.5% stake.
For CHN Energy, it is also the first offshore wind project to be connected to the grid at full capacity this year.
