Yangtze River Delta city alliance auctions off tech achievements

An auction was held online on March 11 by the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta where 30 science and technology achievement projects were sold for 139 million yuan ($19.60 million).

The G60 innovation facilitating network includes nine regions, such as Songjiang District of Shanghai, Suzhou in Jiangsu Province, Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, and Hefei in Anhui Province.

Assets sold included state-of-the-art technologies in artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, high-end equipment, biomedicine, new materials. All transactions were completed on the same day.

After four rounds of bidding, Suzhou Hemai Precision Instrument won a project led by the Suzhou Industrial Technology Research Institute of Zhejiang University, at a cost of 2 million yuan.

It was the second time the online auction had been held. Both sessions were co-sponsored by the Joint Conference Office of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta and the International Operating (Shanghai) Pilot Platform of the State Intellectual Property Operating Public Service Platform. The total values of both online and offline transactions reached 503 million yuan ($70.92 million) this time, 104 million yuan more than in the first session.

As of 2019, the nine regions in the network were home to more than 20,000 high-tech enterprises owning more than 34,000 invention patents, 1,262 national and provincial key laboratories and engineering technology research centers, and more than 1,300 incubators and maker-spaces at all levels.
