Jiangsu’s NPC deputies offer 8 proposals and 365 suggestions

Jiangsu’s deputies to the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) submitted eight proposals and 365 suggestions to the country's annual legislative session in Beijing, according to the provincial NPC delegation at a press conference on the evening of March 10.

Three of the proposals call for enacting laws concerning public interest litigation, industry associations and chambers of commerce, and the protection of the rights and interests of overseas Chinese. The remaining five proposals aim to amend laws related to agricultural mechanization promotion, anti-unfair competition, bidding, criminal procedure, and teachers.

Among the 365 suggestions, 122 focus on promoting technological and industrial innovation. These include the development of the artificial intelligence industry, the low-altitude economy and industrial clusters of elderly-friendly smart devices, regulations for unmanned aerial vehicles, and accountability of e-commerce platforms. There are 98 suggestions on advancing reforms and high-level opening-up, covering services for high-level foreign talents and greater autonomy for reforms in free trade zones.

National major development strategies are the focus of another 41 suggestions, ranging from supporting private enterprises "going global" to the Belt and Road Initiative, and planning for coastal high-speed railways.

The remaining 104 suggestions are centered around promoting common prosperity. These include improving the labor protection system for food delivery riders and enhancing rural elder care services.
