Changshu customs offered quarantine anchorage inspection on April 24 to the 80,000dwt semi-submersible vessel Xin Yao Hua, which carried nine engineering ships used for Belt and Road projects abroad.  

The submersible vessel of COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers has a total length of 230 meters and a deck area close to the size of two standard soccer fields. It helped China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group to transport the ships back to the country.   

Quarantine anchorage means an area where vessels anchor while being granted permission to enter the port. The customs inspection of cargo, personnel and vessel in this docking area streamlines the customs clearance procedures.  

Following tight COVID-19 prevention and control measures, Changshu customs has taken a series of measures to improve quarantine operations and services.
