Lianyungang makes all-out efforts in COVID-19 fight

Lianyungang City in Jiangsu Province has gone all out to contain the COVID-19 outbreak, mainly led by CPC members on the frontline and supported by volunteers from all walks of life.  

The Xindong Sub-district in the city’s Haizhou District opened 55 nucleic acid testing sites on the morning of March 5. Li Xiaona, Party chief in Hailian Neighborhood, said many doctors and nurses living in the area palced under quarantine have expressed their willingness to support the testing.  

Social workers and volunteers go all out to help control the pandemic in Lianyungang.

Nearly 2,000 members of the COVID-19 response team established by the municipal government have rushed to support the pandemic fight in Haizhou, which also has more than 10,000 volunteers to assist with the organization of testing and supply of daily necessities for isolated residents. 

Amid recent COVID-19 resurgence, the PCR test laboratory at Donghai County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine has been running 24 hours. To ensure the basic medical service still available to the public, the city has announced information of 20 medical institutions with fever clinics as well as 13 designated hospitals for people with heath QR code in yellow for close contacts.

Thanks to the concerted campaign to defeat the pandemic, the city has also made active efforts to minimize the impacts on the economic growth. In the mushroom farm of Yuguan Modern Agricultural Technology Co Ltd, located in the city’s Guannan County, workers wearing masks were busy picking, sorting and packing mushrooms. Ma Jianxing, vice president of the company, said the strict prevention and control measures have helped maintain the company's production, about 170 tons per day.
