The fiscal expenditure on ecological and environmental protection in East China’s Jiangsu Province will reach 12 billion yuan in 2022, according to the province’s Department of Finance. 

Li Zailin, an officer of the department, said Jiangsu will give priorities to carbon emissions reduction, carbon neutrality, green transformation of economy and society, and quality-orientated progress in line with the national strategy of pollution control. 

The province’s fiscal authorities will sort out or set up special funds for carbon compliance, implement policies to align with emissions reduction effort, accelerate the introduction of incentives to move towards the goal of carbon neutrality. 

In recent years, Jiangsu has continued to increase its investment to promote ecological civilization in an unprecedented manner. With the fiscal spending guaranteed, the province has made new strides in improving its ecology and environment.
