Yangzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone has made effective efforts to cope with the COVID-19 outbreak, said the zone’s deputy director Xie Baichuan at a press conference on August 22.
In line with the city’s decisions, the zone introduced lockdown measures on August 17 that involved 33 neighborhoods, 28 villages and 127 residential compounds. The zone then went all out to ensure the supply of daily necessities to those affected.
In the campaign, government officers, employees of enterprises or public institutions, and staff members of state-owned enterprises all served as volunteers in the fight against COVID-19, which totaled 4,847.
Training programs were also provided to help volunteers get more prepared and play more important roles in curbing the COVID-19 spread.
