LNG Tanker MARAN GAS ULYSSES transported about 69,000 tons of LNG to reach a terminal in Rudong, Jiangsu Province on August 1, which can generate electricity enough for 1.6 million households to use for one month.
The delivery by CNOOC can effectively enhance the power supply to the coastal province during the peak season.
During a working meeting held in June, the provincial government expected an increasing demand of power in summer amid rapid economic recovery and stable growth. The government also urged departments at all levels to increase coordination and guarantee the supply of coal and natural gas for power generation.
After the meeting, CNOOC has responded quickly to the call and managed to ship 69,000 tons of LNG to the province after overcoming challenges of tight supply and high LNG prices.
