The first train to be used for the Nanjing-Jurong intercity railway was delivered on June 8.
CRRC Nanjing Puzhen, a railway rolling stock manufacturer, has cooperated closely with Nanjing Metro to complete the production and main tests of the train in 17 months, overcoming challenges of COVID-19 disruption, tight schedule, and other technical difficulties.
The new intercity railway, scheduled to open before the end of the year, is 43.642 km long with 13 stations and a maximum speed of 120 km per hour. The train for this new line has a design speed of 135 km per hour.
The train has been equipped with new technology advances including a smart operation and maintenance system.
