The progress is of particular significance also because it’s the first prefecture-level city situated on the northern shore of the Yangtze River to surpass the threshold.
In recent years, Nantong has greatly enhanced its comprehensive strength, with the highest construction output value among prefecture-level cities in China. It has also optimized the development layout and ensured an urbanization rate of 69.1%. the city’s coastal area is becoming a vibrant hub of green and high-end industries.
Amid the deeper implementation of national strategies, such as the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, Nantong has more opportunities to collaborate further with southern Jiangsu and Shanghai in its development, receiving a total of $12.86 billion in foreign investment.
