Fifteen foreigners from 8 countries including Japan, Germany, Italy and the UK won the honor of "Envoy of People's Friendship of Jiangsu" on November 19, granted by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. This brought the total number of winners of the honor to 51 in the province.

They were recognized for contribution in many fields, such as helping forge sister cities and promote exchanges, facilitating economic restructuring and local development, and donating historical materials and spreading the idea of peace-loving. There were also winners awarded for producing influential documentaries to enhance understanding of China or actively participating in charitable programs.

During the awarding ceremony, an activity themed as "Friends around the world, Friendship with Jiangning forever" was launched. A group of international friends were invited by Nanjing Jiangning People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries to explore the development in the district.
