Chen Liangde, a 78-year-old villager, and his family have moved into their new house in the Huaji Village, on the north side of the Provincial Highway 125, in Yandu District, Yancheng City.
“We are very satisfied with the new house and it’s very comfortable. The previous house was too dilapidated,” said Chen, adding the new house has more than 100 square meters across two floors.
Last year’s house improvement and construction task was fulfilled in a number of high-quality new rural communities in northern Jiangsu’s five cities. This year is of great significance as it is the decisive year for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects and at a high quality.
Xuzhou improved housing conditions for 42,323 families and built a number of new rural communities such as Liyu Villa in 2019. In the same year, Huai'an implemented 90 renovation projects, benefiting 20,264 households and completing 119.2 percent of the provincial tasks assigned for the city. In the meantime, Suqian plans to begin 62 new projects, build 30,000 houses, and relocate 51,000 households this year.
