Jiangsu Province has achieved a cumulative installed capacity of nearly 6 million kilowatts in new energy storage projects, ranking first nationwide.
The progress follows the accelerated development of a new type of power system across the province. By the end of this year, Jiangsu aims to increase its installed capacity by an additional one million kilowatts, further enhancing the reliability of its energy supply.
During this summer’s high temperatures, Jiangsu experienced surging electricity demand, setting new load records and reaching a peak of 147 million kilowatts, which is 15 million kilowatts higher than the previous record.
As part of its efforts to build a new type of power supply system, Nanjing plans to implement more power grid infrastructure and renovation projects in 2025. These projects include upgrading power facilities in core areas and creating an integrated "power generation + storage" framework to support businesses in their low-carbon transition.
