The ninth plenary session of the 14th CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee was held in Nanjing on May 27.

The meeting fully implemented the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and the second and third plenary sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee. It made arrangements to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech during his participation in a deliberation with fellow deputies from Jiangsu at the third session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) in March.

The plenary session stressed the need to promote the integration of scientific and technological innovation, enhance financial services for technology-based enterprises, and apply digital, intelligent and green technologies to transform traditional industries.

It also underscored the importance of aligning closely with the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative, promoting consumption upgrades, and strengthening the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of all types of market entities. Jiangsu aims to create a world-class business environment that is market-oriented, law-based and internationalized. Greater efforts will be made to advance the development the Jiangsu Pilot Free Trade Zone and facilitate cross-border trade.

Furthermore, the session highlighted support for the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the protection of the ecological environment. It also called for solid progress in advancing comprehensive rural revitalization and integrated urban-rural development, while addressing key public concerns such as elderly care, childcare, childbirth and education.
