Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province is integrating internet of vehicles and intelligent connected vehicles to accelerate the utilization of new energy in public facilities and exploring ways to achieve the high-end development of its auto and auto parts industries.
The largest self-driving shuttle bus system in China has formed in the city after the first ICVs began operating in the Wuxi Economic Development District in March.
Statistics show that to date, self-driving buses in WEDD have traveled 1.5 million kilometers and delivered 25,000 passengers with an occupancy rate of 50 percent.

The 50 buses in service are pure electric driverless vehicles, and the automatic driving technology used in the buses leads the country in terms of sensing, positioning, and decision planning.
In addition to short-haul shuttle bus services, intelligent driving is used in logistics and sanitation.
Twenty one self-driving trucks are serving multiple intelligent factories in the Wuxi New District Free Trade Zone and surrounding roads; 72 unmanned distribution vehicles are helping SF Express, YTO Express, RT-Mart, and Hema Fresh; and self-driving sanitation vehicles are cleaning roads in Xidong Business District and WEDD.

Based on data collected over the past six months, the system's algorithm has been further optimized to provide a better experience to passengers, according to a staff member from the operator, Checheng Zhilian.
