Wu Zhenglong, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, expounded on the significance of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Zhenjiang City on November 3.
He stressed the need to completely and fully implement the new development concept, regard science and technology as primary productive force, talent as primary resource and innovation as primary driver of growth, and also explore new areas of development. Jiangsu also needs to build up new development momentum, form its advantages, and efficiently coordinate epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development.
At Jiangsu University's Key Laboratory for Theory and Technology of Intelligent Agricultural Machinery and Equipment, Wu exchanged ideas with scientific researchers and students and also learned about the application, operational efficiency, yield loss control and promotion of new agricultural equipment.
Wu said that the report of the 20th CPC National Congress has made strategic arrangements for the comprehensive promotion of rural vitalization. He called for efforts to give full play to the university's strengths, support the agricultural development, and expand the use of 5G, artificial intelligence, BeiDou Navigation Satellite System (BDS), Internet of Things and other advanced technologies.
It's necessary to improve the research and development of agricultural equipment and make new breakthroughs in promoting agricultural mechanization and smart transformation, offering a strong support for progress of rural vitalization, according to Wu.
At the workshop and laboratory of Jiangsu Cnano Technology, Wu gained a deep understanding of the company's R&D spending, team building, and use of new materials to improve the performance of lithium batteries. He also encouraged Cnano to enhance the safety and competitiveness of its supply chain and remain committed to high-quality development.
During his visit to Meike Solar Technology, Wu encouraged the company to seize the major opportunity of green and low-carbon development and make persistent efforts in digital and intelligent transformation in order to contribute to achieving the "dual carbon" goals.

After learning about the research and development as well as the main performance indicators of products at the HYCET Industrial Park, Wu emphasized the importance of pooling high-end resources and strengthening scientific and technological innovation.
At Ruixiang Technology Group, he encouraged the company to further integrate digital economy, real economy and rural vitalization, and advance the sustainable and healthy development.
During his stay in Zhenjiang, Wu stressed efforts to implement the key requirements to "contain the virus, stabilize the economy and ensure the development safety," give top priority to the people and life, focus on the goals this year, and promote the high-quality and stable development.
