Participants exchanged ideas on two-way investment, new energy, vocational education and other topics at the Jiangsu-Germany Dialogue event, held at the Sino-German (Changzhou) Innovation Industrial Park on December 21.
Shi Mingde, President of the China-Germany Friendship Association, said the closer cooperation between Jiangsu and Germany has not only injected strong vitality into China's high-quality growth and opening-up but also created new opportunities for pragmatic cooperation between the two countries and between China and Europe too.
The event also saw the unveiling of new joint ventures and cooperation initiatives, such as the Sino-German Training & Certification Center for High-skilled Talents and an investment agreement between China Lithium Battery Technology and Drees & Sommer.
As China has vowed to peak its carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060, there will be huge room for cooperation between companies from the two countries in the fields of new energy vehicles and automotive battery, said Li Jia, General Manager of Global Customer Busines Unit SVOLT Energy Technology.
During a panel discussion about vocational education cooperation, participants believed that association of vocational schools can stimulate the progress by integrating sources of universities, enterprises and chambers of commerce.
The coastal province has deepened cooperation with Germany on many fronts over the years. In October 2012, Jiangsu and Baden-Württemberg agreed to promote the dual vocational training model, a combination of practical training in companies and theoretical training at a vocational school, in Changzhou Science and Education Town. After the Jiangsu-Germany Higher Vocational Education Cooperation Consortium was launched in 2020, over 20 schools, business associations, educational groups and enterprises have engaged in many initiatives, such as teachers training and innovation coaching.
