Holiday sales revenue of Jiangsu's key enterprises reaches 4.69 bln yuan

Jiangsu's key enterprises in the commerce and trade logistics sectors, monitored by the Department of Commerce, achieved sales revenue of 4.69 billion yuan during the Spring Festival holiday, according to the department's preliminary statistics.

In Nanjing, capital of the province, major enterprises saw their sales revenue increase by 3.8% year on year to 1.89 billion yuan as the city hosted more than 200 activities to promote consumption.

Wuxi City launched the 2023 Taihu Lake Shopping Festival and distributed consumption vouchers worth 60 million yuan.

Changzhou City's consumption campaign in the Lunar New Year holiday helped the online sales revenue reach 10.6 million yuan.

Lianyungang and Suqian cities issued 30 million yuan and 35 million yuan of consumption vouchers respectively while the two cities hosted various programs to promote consumption.

Foot traffic at main shopping malls increased by about 30%. In Nanjing's Xinjiekou central business district, malls like Deji Plaza, The Central, Nanjing Cenbest and Nanjing Golden Eagle World reported 1.17 million visits, an expansion of 48%. The sales revenue of gold retailers in Xuzhou and Yancheng cities surged by 46.9% and 20% respectively.

In the food and beverage sector, Yangzhou's 14 key restaurants posted a revenue of 14.71 million yuan in the holiday, a year-on-year growth of 106.3%.

China's holiday box office had reached 5.76 billion yuan by the midnight on January 26, including ticket sales of 622 million yuan and 10 million moviegoers in Jiangsu, both highest among province-level regions in the country.

The Confucius Temple tourist area in Nanjing hosted the 37th Qinhuai Lantern Festival and also went live on Douyin, a short-video app. With these efforts, the number of visitors and sales revenue at the area increased by 64% and 7.8% respectively.
