The Huai’an-Zhenjiang section of the Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High-speed Railway successfully completed the whole line tests on October 13.

All test data of many systems including railway track and power supply met the requirements.

The section started the comprehensive tests on September 1 and has made smooth progress since then. The section will begin the trial operation from late October and aim to be ready for opening by mid-December.

Passing through the central and north regions in Jiangsu Province, the Lianyungang-Zhenjiang High-speed Railway connects with several important railway lines, such as the existing Lianyungang-Lanzhou Railway and Qiandao-Lianyungang Railway, the Lianyungang-Xuzhou High-speed Railway under construction, Nanjing–Qidong Railway and Shanghai-Nanjing Intercity Railway.

The railway line will be 304.5 kilometers long and has a design standard of 250 kilometers per hour. The northern section of the line, linking Lianyungang and Huai’an, opened on December 16 last year. The southern section between Huai’an and Zhenjiang is about 200 kilometers long with a number of stations.
