China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) put its first automated wharf in Guangzhou Port into test on Wednesday.

Three systems of the wharf, namely port management, intelligent scheduling and equipment management, were tested.

Compared with the conventional magnetic navigation, Guangzhou Port adopted the driverless guide vehicle with Beidou navigation system, which could reduce the cost.

According to the Guangzhou Port Group, the automated wharf could save about 70 percent of manpower.
