East China’s Jiangsu Province has promoted mechanized farming to improve crops production and field management. Binhai County in the province’s Yancheng City is a great destination to have a glance into the future of autonomous farms.
Luo Jianhai Family Farm, located in the county’s Xinling Village, grows more than 1,600 mu of wheat this year. It has used three drones to disperse fertilizers efficiently.
The county is also home to a pilot area covering 60 mu to demonstrate the use of new wheat varieties and digital transformation of farming activities. The area has put into use unmanned agricultural machinery for plowing, sowing, field management and harvesting, equipped with 5G and self-driving technologies. All data will be sent to a data center of Longcom IOT Agricultural Science Park in real time.
The pilot area is just a part of the county’s digitalized farm totaling 350 mu. The use of sensors helps achieve online and smart management of all farming activities.
