A football pitch of newly built Yangtze River Sports Park in Nantong City will open to the public on August 30, offering residents a new destination for sports, culture and recreation.

Dubbed as the most beautiful football pitch along China's longest river, the venue will host four matches on its opening day, including youth games in the afternoon, and opening match of the 2025 Nantong Autumn Amateur Football League in the evening.

On August 31, the park will feature a full day of camping activities, including frisbee games, yoga, baseball and basketball matches.

Once a hub of heavy industry, the riverside area has undergone extensive ecological restoration, transforming into a popular green waterfront. The new sports park covers an area of 42 hectares, with around 2 km of riverfront, and the football section spans 15.1 hectares.
