The 2025 Nanjing Drama Festival, a signature event in the city's cultural scene, began at Nanjing Poly Grand Theater on March 6.

Nanjing, a UNESCO City of Literature and a vital stage for theatrical creation and exchange, boasts rich cultural heritage and distinctive artistic atmosphere. This year’s drama festival will continue its focus on the literary arts, in addition to a series of activities including shows and lectures by prominent experts.

Gong Shenglin, general manager of the theater, emphasized that over nine years the festival has expanded beyond performances to collaboration with bookstores, markets, and iconic locations, inspiring public engagement with the interplay of literature and drama.
