The 2024 Embroidery Art Exhibition Week opened in Suzhou New District (SND) on December 22, featuring 45 embroidery projects from 25 provinces across the country.
The week-long event showcased the distinctive embroidery crafts of different regions and cultural traditions through exhibitions and performances. The opening ceremony also included an academic symposium titled "Embroidery and Life Aesthetics" among others.
The event took place in SND’s Zhenhu Subdistrict, a major birthplace and hub for the Suzhou-style embroidery industry and the province’s only national-level "Intangible Cultural Heritage Tourism Town". Spanning 20 square kilometers, the town is home to over 8,400 embroiderers and 400 studios, with an annual output of 1.5 billion yuan from the embroidery sector.
