The 13th Tour of Taihu Lake road bicycle race, together with the Yangtze River Delta Cross-Regional Race, kicked off in Jiangning District, Nanjing on October 9.

A total of 22 teams, comprising 147 professional cyclists from more than ten countries and regions, gathered at the Jiangsu Garden Expo Park for the 96.49-kilometre race.

Since its inception in 2010, the Tour of Taihu Lake event has steadily expanded its domestic and international influence. Centered on the Yangtze River Delta urban cluster, one of the world’s largest metropolitan regions, the event now involves over 20 cities in the delta, creating a vibrant network of sports and culture.

This year’s event features four major stages, covering Jiangning in Nanjing, Wujiang in Suzhou, Qidong in Nantong, and Binhu in Wuxi. The route highlights the natural scenery and cultural heritage of these cities, further promoting their resource sharing and the integration of sports, culture, and tourism across the delta.
