The 2025 Wuxi International Month and International Cherry Blossom Festival opened on March 20. Guests from over 30 countries and regions attended this signature event, in celebration of the city’s international exchange amid a spectacular flora display.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Wuxi Mayor Zhao Jianjun stressed the importance of advancing high-quality development through high-level opening up. Wuxi is committed to expanding international cooperation in education, health, culture, and youth sectors, and will strive to make it easier for foreigners to invest, work, and live in the city, said Zhao.
Wuxi initiated its International Cherry Blossom Week in 2014 and upgraded it into the International Month in 2022. It currently boasts 51 international sister cities and engages in economic and trade ties with more than 220 countries and regions.
Additionally, Wuxi will join international cities with sister-city or friendly-exchange ties to launch a series of celebratory events. During the International Month, Wuxi will host over 30 events, including seminars, exhibitions, and interactive activities across five sectors: culture and education, sports, trade and industry, technology and talent, and public services.
As part of its global communication campaign, for the first time, Wuxi promoted the Yuantouzhu Cherry Blossom Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
